Are you passionate about theatre? Would you like to be a community leader and artistic collaborator with Sock ‘n’ Buskin? Now is the time to apply to our executive board and bring your voice to the company in an even bigger way.

Sock ‘n’ Buskin board members are cornerstones of the company. As you know, for every show there’s a behind the scenes crew, and behind them is our board of executives. The board oversees our entire season of shows, and is responsible for marketing, event planning, volunteer coordination and everything in between. Board members are active community members who often participate in shows, events, and the inner workings of the company. In essence, they help to create a strong and inclusive community. 

Board members take up various volunteer roles within the company, and each member has a specific portfolio with the board. These portfolios range from outreach, social media coordination, finance, event planning, communications, volunteer coordination, production coordination and more! After being hired to the board, members are asked to apply to these positions, and they thereafter assigned internally.

Applicants to the board should be strong community members who are capable of juggling various roles within the company all at once. If you feel that you are well suited to the requirements of the board, apply to join us! In board applicants, we are looking for people who:

  • Contribute to an inclusive, and supportive environment for the community;
  • Participate in shows as actors, stage managers, directors, stage hands, or volunteers;
  • Display good work ethic and commitment to past productions;
  • Maintain positive relationships with other community members; and
  • Have relevant leadership experience outside of SnB.

The application process consists of two easy steps. First, simply fill out an application form outlining why you’d like to be on the board and what relevant experiences you have that pertain to the role.

The application deadline is March 6th, 2019 at 6:00pm.

Upon submission of your application, you can expect an email from us after the application deadline has passed informing you of the time of your interview and other pertinent information.

The second step is the interview process. Successful applicants will be asked to come in for interviews on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019. Please make sure you are available! Further details will be provided at a later date.
