FAHRENHEIT 451 AUDITIONS
Come and be a part of SnB’s final play of the season!
Written by: Ray Bradbury
Directed by: Sheldon Parathundyil
Stage managed by: Jaquie Sheppard and Meg Sutton
March 14 – 17, 2019
In a dystopian futuristic society, fireman Guy Montag’s job is to burn books. Books are the enemy here, where people do not read or think critically; instead, they watch television and drive fast cars. As Montag’s dissatisfaction with life increases, so does his interest in reading. He soon becomes involved in a scheme to re-introduce literature, culture and free thought into the city. A commentary on the state of civilization, Fahrenheit 451 is Bradbury’s most famous work.
Please prepare a comedic or dramatic monologue to perform. You will also be asked to perform a song; it’s recommended that you choose a style opposite to your monologue in the form of a lyrical ballad or musical theatre number. There will also be an improvisational component to your audition. The production team is looking for strong characterization, range and creativity.
Audition slots will be 15 minutes long between 10:00AM and 6:00PM on Saturday, January 12th. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your allotted time. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, January 13th.
