CALL FOR STAGE MANAGERS

Call for Stage Managers 2021/2022

*All positions are for in-person shows, COVID-19 pending

Sock ‘n’ Buskin is now accepting applications for Stage Managers to help make our 78th season a smashing success! This is your chance to get a glimpse behind-the-scenes, while serving as a leader for a vibrant community of artists and friends. This year, the following positions are available: Production Stage Manager, Technical Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager (interest pending). No prior stage managing experience is required for any of these positions. Depending on applications, a show may only have a sole Stage Manager.

Our in-person productions this year are scheduled to be performed in November, February and March (COVID allowing), but the average rehearsal process for any given show lasts about 3 months’ time.  Stage managers are expected to be present at auditions/callbacks and all rehearsals and performances. All positions are volunteer positions, and qualify for inclusion on your CCR. Positions are limited to Carleton students and alumni.

Duties for the Production Stage Manager position can include prop and costume coordination, rehearsal scheduling and stage crew supervision. Duties for the Technical Stage Manager position can include sound and lighting design, projections and set development and construction. If you’d like more details on what these positions can entail we would be happy to oblige through email or Facebook.

You can apply to be either a Production, Technical or Assistant Stage Manager (and indicate why you think this would be a good fit for you), or to all.

Applications are due before July 18th, and as always, if you have any questions about stage managing or this application process, don’t hesitate to send us an email or a Facebook message. We look forward to hearing from you!
