Synopsis

One dark and stormy night on the outskirts of 1950s Washington DC, six high-profile guests arrive at a party hosted in an eerie old mansion. None of them know who has invited them, and all have been asked to adopt pseudonyms to conceal their identities. Soon enough, the mansion’s butler, Wadsworth, reveals to them that their host is a man named Mr. Boddy who has been blackmailing all of them to profit off of their shady businesses and scandals. But when Mr. Boddy suddenly turns up dead, panic, chaos and hilarity ensue as the guests point accusatory fingers at one another to determine the killer. But is anyone truly innocent? And what were they really invited for?

Meet the Production Team

Martina Peterson Headshot

Martina Peterson (she/her)
– Director –

Martina is a Carleton alum who has been part of the Sock n Buskin community for nearly four years. After spending a year lurking in the audience, she mustered up the courage to volunteer as a stagehand for Pride & Prejudice in the fall of 2019. Since then, she has designed/managed costumes for King Lear (2020) and Bad Auditions… On Camera (2020), stage managed Advance Man (2021), acted in Concord Floral (2021) and Anne of Green Gables (2022), and served as External Coordinator for the SnB board in the 2021-22 season. Now, directing for the first time, she is ecstatic to continue being a part of this fabulous, welcoming and exciting community, and to put on a show that she hopes will keep you on the edge of your seat with laughter and suspense!

Gabbie Cruz Headshot

Gabbie Cruz (they/them)
– Stage Manager –

Gabbie is thrilled to have the opportunity to stage manage another Sock ’n’ Buskin production in their third year at Carleton! They have stage managed virtually and in-person for SnB, with notable shows including Concord Floral (2021) and Anne of Green Gables (2022); yet they haven’t got a Clue on what they are doing (get it?) (for professional reasons, they want to clarify that they do know what they are doing…somewhat). Gabbie is studying Childhood & Youth Studies, with minors in Psychology and English: Language & Literature. When they are not scribbling down blocking or anxiously pacing in a tech booth, Gabbie enjoys writing, reading, collecting funky earrings on Etsy, and listening to DnD podcasts with no intention of actually learning the rules of DnD.

Ness Maio-Dorion Headshot

Ness Maio-Dorion (she/them)
– Assistant Stage Manager –

Ness was in the theatre scene when she was younger. They are going into their first year at Carleton in History of Architecture. They are very excited to join Sock ’n’ Buskin for their first year as Assistant Stage Manager for the Spring show of 2023, Clue! She is currently working on other theatre projects and is willing to learn more about what it takes to put on a show!
